Bad weather cuts power to more than 30 settlements in Odesa region

Heavy rain and winds that raged in Odesa region at night and in the morning of September 30 led to the loss of power in more than 30 settlements.

According to the press service of DTEK Odesa Power Grid, as of the morning of September 30, power engineers had restored electricity to 18,761 households in 15 settlements in the region, repaired 13 overhead lines, and powered 207 transformer substations.

However, as of 9:00 a.m. on September 30, 12,901 customers in 16 villages and towns remain temporarily without power.

Meanwhile, in Odesa, the bad weather has adjusted some public transportation routes. Trolleybus route 10 is now running to Rishelievskaya Street. Trolleybus route No. 8 temporarily runs to Khimichna Street, tram route No. 20 has temporarily stopped working and a taxi is running instead. Tram routes 7, 13, 27 were left without electricity and also stopped.

According to weather forecasters, unfavorable weather conditions will continue in Odesa Oblast on September 30, with showers and wind gusts of up to 14 meters per second.

Before that, on the night of September 25-26, Odesa region suffered another enemy attack, which left 32,81 families without electricity, but the damage was repaired by the morning of September 26. Then the Russians attacked the Odesa region with attack drones, trying to hit infrastructure facilities. The air defense units repelled the attack in two hours, but some drones still reached the target, damaging the transformers of one of the transport infrastructure facilities. A fire broke out and was extinguished by firefighters.
