On the night of May 29, Odesa region became a target for Russian attacks by unmanned aerial vehicles.

In particular, the south of Odesa region was under attack by drones, but one of the drones flew to the Romanian city of Galati and, according to Viata Libera, crashed into a residential high-rise building, hitting an apartment on the tenth floor. An explosion occurred, followed by a fire. Two people were injured.

The Romanians launched two fighter jets from the Fătesti air base at 1:19 a.m. to intercept the aircraft. As for the victims, a woman suffered first-degree burns, and a 14-year-old boy had an acute stress reaction. Both were provided with medical care. In total, about 70 people were escorted out of the building or left on their own.

Also, according to the Ukrainian Navy, at night, the enemy used a drone to attack the ANT bulk carrier, which was flying the flag of Vanuatu (the shipowner country is Turkey) and was sailing from one of the ports of Odesa region to Turkey with cargo on board.

A hit to the ship's superstructure caused a fire, which was quickly localized, but two crew members were injured. They were evacuated by Ukrainian Navy boats and taken to a medical facility.

The south of Odesa region has been under attack by Russian drones for the second night in a row. In the middle of the night on May 28, drones hit a residential building and an infrastructure facility. Despite the destruction and damage to the surrounding buildings, there were no casualties or injuries. The strike resulted in a UAV hitting a private residential building and an infrastructure facility. The blast wave and debris caused damage to nearby buildings, with windows smashed and glazing damaged. There were no civilian casualties.
