Agricultural products totaling almost UAH 120 million were exported abroad through one of the ports of Odesa region. However, the exporter did not declare the real amount of income and actually evaded taxes by more than UAH 21 million.

This was reported by the Bureau of Economic Security.

It concerns the export of 6.6 thousand tons of sunflower meal and 5.3 thousand tons of soybeans to Turkey through one of the ports of the region.

As it turned out, the commercial director of a company specializing in the wholesale trade of grain, seeds and animal feed deliberately failed to declare the income received. In its financial statements, the company underreported the volume of products sold, which resulted in tax evasion of almost UAH 21.6 million.

The BES's Territorial Directorate explained that the defendant had already paid the entire amount required. However, he was still notified of being suspected under Part 2 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (large-scale tax evasion). The businessman faces a fine of UAH 170,000 to 255,000 with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions for up to three years.

Earlier, a grain export company in Odesa region intentionally evaded taxes on a particularly large scale. The case against the head of the exporting company was also sent to court.

Prior to that, an agricultural export company in Odesa region was forced to pay more than four million hryvnias in damages to the state budget.

Intent also wrote that agro traders accuse representatives of the Bureau of Economic Security (BES) of putting pressure and blocking work at enterprises in the port of Odesa. According to the participants of the event, since December 19, BES detectives have been paralyzing the activities of dozens of companies operating in the port of Odesa, citing alleged tax evasion.
