In Kherson region, the prosecutor's office defended 550 hectares of unique land in the Kamianska Sich National Nature Park. The court overturned the illegal decisions of the State Geocadastre, so the territory remained in state ownership.

This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office.

According to the press service, protecting Ukrainian land from illegal use remains one of the main tasks of prosecutors of specialized environmental prosecutors. This is especially important when it comes to protected areas of exceptional environmental and strategic importance. Thanks to the principled position of the prosecutor's office, another attempt to seize unique resources was stopped.

In the Kherson region, the prosecutor's office defended 550 hectares of land in the Kamianska Sich National Nature Park and returned them to state ownership.

As it turned out, the Main Department of the State Geocadastre in the region illegally formed and transferred these plots to communal ownership under the guise of agricultural land. This not only contravened the law, but also violated the regime of protection of the territories of the nature reserve fund.

The court recognized the orders as unlawful and canceled the state registration. Three decisions in favor of the prosecutor's office have already been enforced, so the National Park will preserve its natural and historical potential for future generations.

At the beginning of the year, law enforcement officers in Kherson region exposed a group of people who illegally seized state land worth more than UAH 17 million. The organizer of the scheme was a former employee of the regional StateGeoCadastre.

According to the investigation, last summer a group of residents of the region pulled off a fraud to seize land plots owned by the Tyahyn village council. As a result, more than 300 hectares of agricultural land were illegally re-registered. Despite the hostilities in the region, the registration procedures still took place.

Law enforcement officials note that in the first quarter of 2025 alone, the state managed to return almost 500 hectares of land in Kherson region and prevented frauds worth about UAH 85 million.
