Mykolaiv region was the first in Ukraine to launch a regional digital assistant based on AI, Khvylka. It helps residents and tourists to get information about services, routes, and important objects of the region without complications and bureaucracy.

This was reported by the press service of Mykolaiv Regional State Administration.

Mykolaiv region became the first in Ukraine to launch a digital consultant based on artificial intelligence. The online assistant was presented by the regional military administration.

According to the press service, Khvylka was created for fast and convenient communication with residents and tourists. It works online and is constantly learning, responding to user requests.

"This is not just a chatbot, but a step towards a new quality of digital interaction in the region," said Vyacheslav Bazarenko, Deputy Head of the Regional State Administration.

"The AI consultant provides general information about the history of the region, tourist routes, cultural and natural locations, and advises on medical issues and public services. The developers emphasize that the interface of Khvylyka is simple, without bureaucracy and complicated instructions.

In addition, every visitor to Mykolaiv region will receive an SMS greeting with a link to the tool as soon as they cross the border of the region.

Recently, the sappers of Mykolaiv region received a modern aerial reconnaissance system Mines Eye, which works using artificial intelligence. It will significantly increase the efficiency of detecting ammunition and explosive devices in the region.

The system is capable of identifying even camouflaged objects, including anti-tank mines that can be hidden under a layer of vegetation. Mines Eye also produces accurate maps and analytical reports, allowing deminers to plan both manual and mechanized demining based on the actual situation.

Artificial intelligence is increasingly being used as a support tool for routine or dangerous tasks. At the same time, experts warn that the development of such technologies needs to be controlled. The ability of AI to learn itself brings not only benefits but also potential risks, ranging from data leaks to misuse in the arms industry.
