The Rozdilnyansky District Court of Odesa Region sentenced a local resident to five years in prison for obstructing the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations.
However, according to the court's verdict, her actual sentence was commuted to probation for two years.
The woman joined an open group on Viber, where participants reported on the movements of the military and the locations of mobilization groups, and in October-December 2025, she posted 11 messages there about the location of alert groups of territorial recruitment and social support centers.
At the court hearing, the accused pleaded guilty to the crime and sincerely repented of her actions. She told the court that she lives in the village of Vynohradar, Rozdilnyansky district, Odesa region. She was indeed a member of the created group "Moms on Maternity Leave", where she has an account. In this community, she did disseminate information, messages, and alerts about the presence of TCC employees in Vynohradar village who were conducting mobilization activities. She works as a shop assistant and could observe the situation in the village. She provided the information to the group as she wanted to help her fellow villagers avoid mobilization and possible injuries in the war.
She sincerely repented of her actions, as she really did not understand what was preventing mobilization in Ukraine and was not aware at the time that these actions were subject to criminal liability.
In passing the verdict, the judges recognized that the circumstances that mitigate the punishment of the accused are sincere repentance and active assistance in solving the criminal offense. The court also recognized as a mitigating circumstance the fact that the accused transferred money in the amount of 10 thousand hryvnias to the account of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as a charitable contribution.
Also, when sentencing, the court took into account that the accused had not been previously prosecuted, has strong social ties in Ukraine, is raising two minor children on her own, and is positively characterized at the place of residence.
