Today, on October 13, <b>Vitaliy Kim</b>, the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, met with UNDP Resident Representative <b>Auke Lotsma</b> and the agency's team.
According to the press service of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, the key topic of discussion was the results of already implemented projects and further areas of cooperation, including the opening of a UNDP office in Mykolaiv.
It is planned to open a UNDP office in Mykolaiv by the end of 2025. The UNDP Resident Representative also emphasized that the organization is coordinating its efforts with the Danish government and other international partners to accelerate projects in key areas: energy, recovery, education, and water supply.
In particular, a large-scale program of the European Investment Bank worth about 200 million euros is being considered, which includes a component of support for Mykolaiv.
Earlier, Mykolaiv honored the Ambassador of Denmark to Ukraine <b>Ole Egberg Mikkelsen </b>with theaward 'Mykolaiv City Badge of Honor'. The award was presented on September 24 during a farewell reception hosted by the Ambassador. The award was presented by Deputy Mayor Sergiy Korenev.
The award is intended for those who are not residents of the city but have made a significant contribution to its development and assistance since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. Ambassador Mikkelsen emphasized that he sees this award as a recognition of the strong partnership between Denmark and Ukraine, which has developed intensively since 2022.
Ole Egberg Mikkelsen has also received awards from Mykolaiv Regional Council and the State Emergency Service, and last month he was awarded the Order of Merit II degree from the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
