A court has placed under house arrest a serviceman suspected of illegally selling explosives and ammunition. According to the investigation, the Armed Forces logistics officer allegedly sent explosives through post offices and sold grenades and ammunition in Kherson.
This is evidenced by the decision of the Central District Court of Mykolaiv.
According to the investigation, the soldier allegedly purchased a plastic explosive based on hexogen and polyisobutylene without a permit and then stored it for further sale. Law enforcement officials claim that at the end of January 2026, he agreed to sell the explosives worth UAH 20 thousand to a man who was acting under the control of law enforcement agencies as part of an operational purchase.
Investigators note that on January 29, the suspect allegedly sent the explosive substance through a Nova Poshta branch in Dnipro region to Kherson. The parcel was received on February 2, after which the money was transferred to the specified bank card.
In addition, the case file contains information about the possible sale of a large batch of ammunition. According to the investigation, the soldier illegally stored and subsequently sold 15 PG-9 anti-tank grenades, six PG-7VM rounds for RPG-7, dozens of grenade launchers and 100 large-caliber rounds. The operational purchase allegedly took place on March 24, 2026, in Kirovohrad region, and the transaction amounted to UAH 40 thousand.
The military was served a notice of suspicion on May 5. The court took into account that the suspect has no previous convictions, has a family and children, is on military service and has been awarded the Order for Courage of the II and III degrees, the Golden Cross and other state awards.
As a result, the court refused to detain the investigators in custody and imposed house arrest on the military at night until July 5, 2026.
Earlier, a man was detained in Kherson region for organizing the illegal sale of ammunition. The suspect was detained after a series of illegal transactions for the sale of ammunition via the Internet.
