A man was detained in Kherson region for organizing the illegal sale of ammunition. The suspect was detained after a series of illegal transactions for the sale of ammunition via the Internet.

This is evidenced by the decision of the Zavodskyi District Court of Mykolaiv.

According to the investigation, the man gained access to a storage facility for 5.6 mm sporting and hunting ammunition and decided to sell it without a legal permit. He offered the ammunition in batches of 10 packs, at a price of UAH 310 each.

In November 2025, the suspect posted an ad on the OLX website using another person's account and mobile phone number. A few days later, he agreed to sell 20 packs of ammunition (1,000 units in total) for UAH 5,700 to a buyer who later handed them over to the police. In December 2025 and January 2026, he sold another 1,250 rounds of ammunition via telegram, using Nova Poshta to Kherson.

Investigators conducted several covert investigative actions in the form of operational purchases, seized the ammunition and confirmed by expert opinions that it was live and suitable for firing. The evidence also included inspections of the OLX website, cell phones, and correspondence with buyers.

On January 27, 2026, he was suspected of committing a criminal offense under Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - illegal possession and sale of ammunition. He was detained the same day. The judge imposed a pre-trial restraint in the form of detention until March 27, 2026. At the same time, bail was set at UAH 99,840. After posting bail, the suspect is obliged to fulfill his duties.

Also in January, a group that illegally sold military weapons, including assault rifles and machine guns, was exposed in Kherson region. The suspects acted by prior conspiracy and sold weapons through Nova Poshta post offices.
