Ukraine Approves 68 Water Supply Projects Worth ₴2 Billion for Recovery

In Ukraine, 68 projects in the field of construction, reconstruction and overhaul of water supply and sewage systems worth almost UAH 2 billion have been approved as part of the recovery program.

According to the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, last week, an expert working group met to consider projects for funding under the third phase of the recovery program.

At the first one, 10 projects worth UAH 388 million were approved. They will be implemented in Zaporizhzhia, Lviv, Mykolaiv, and Odesa regions.

At the second, 29 more projects were approved for Poltava, Rivne, Sumy, Ternopil, Kharkiv, Khmelnytsky, Kherson, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, and Bukovyna regions.

Earlier, the expert working group approved 29 such projects worth UAH 1.1 billion for Dnipro, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, and Kirovohrad regions. Another 35 projects worth almost UAH 1 billion were approved for community energy resilience projects.

Earlier, a program of experience exchange between Ukrainian and US water utilities was launched in Mykolaiv to modernize and improve the efficiency of water supply. And the Department for the Maintenance of Communal Property of the Dachna Village Council of Odesa District announced a tender to select a company that will be paid for the overhaul of the water supply network from two wells.

In addition, the village of Pravdino, Kherson district, plans to repair the water supply system. This requires UAH 57.7 million. The plan is to lay 5 kilometers of pipeline, repair 10 existing wells, and install 5 new ones. The project also includes replacing pumps with more energy-efficient ones, repairing the pumping station premises, and updating electrical switchboard equipment.

The total cost of the project is UAH 57.7 million. UAH 19.7 million has been allocated from the state reserve fund for the project.
