The Department of Consumer Market Development and Consumer Protection of the Odesa City Council has planned funds for the dismantling of a kiosk on Pryvokzalna Square, but will be able to use these funds only in February.

According to the Center for Public Investigations, this was reported by the head of the department, Alyona Verbelchuk, during a meeting of the Standing Committee on Communal Property, Economic, Investment, State Regulatory Policy and Entrepreneurship.

According to her, the metal structures on Panteleimonivska Street were supposed to be a summer playground, which was approved by the department last year, but in mid-December, the department's specialists found deviations from the binding passport and issued an order to the entrepreneurs to eliminate the discrepancies, which they ignored.

As for the kiosk on Akademika Korolyova Street, the department is unable to get rid of it because of a court decision that ordered it to renew the contract with the entrepreneur.

According to Alyona Verbelchuk, in 2023, the department and the entrepreneur signed contracts for the placement of temporary structures, but later the department's specialists found deviations from the contract and terminated it. However, the entrepreneur sued and won the case.

In the end, the commission members decided to appeal to the Odesa City Council and the head of the Odesa City Military Administration to establish an official moratorium on the placement of new kiosks in Odesa.

Earlier, a member of the Odesa City Council, Petro Obukhov, said that new kiosks were being erected on the railway station square and Akademika Korolyova Street despite an unofficial moratorium established when Gennadiy Trukhanov was mayor of Odesa. According to the deputy, the moratorium was not enshrined in a separate decision, but existed as an oral order of the mayor.
