Shahed's attack on Kherson region: how many drones were destroyed by air defense

On the night of January 11, air defense forces shot down two kamikaze drones in the sky over Kherson region.

This was reported by the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin.

According to the official, Russian troops shelled numerous settlements in Kherson region, including Antonivka, Stanislav, Beryslav, Chervonyi Mayak, Novooleksandrivka, Kozatske, and the city of Kherson.

The attacks targeted residential areas, critical and social infrastructure. The shelling damaged 21 private houses, a gas pipeline and a car. Two people were injured.

In addition, on the night of January 11, the Air Defense Forces shot down two Shahed-131/136 kamikaze drones that were used to attack the region.

Intent has already reported that last night the air defense shot down three enemy drones in Mykolaiv region. In Voznesensk district, a dry grass fire started due to falling drone debris. The fire was quickly extinguished with no casualties.

Ilya, a 55-year-old fighter with a mobile firing group of the Kherson anti-aircraft missile brigade, shot down his first Shahed in the sky over Mykolaiv region. He hit an air target with a Kanik heavy machine gun. It happened on the night of January 7.

Since the beginning of 2025, Russian troops have carried out about 650 attacks on the Kherson region using drones. Seven people were killed and 55 others were injured in these attacks.

On January 8, Roman Matviychuk, the head of one of the neighborhood committees of Kherson's Korabelny district, was killed in Naddnipryanske by a Russian drone attack. The Russian military attacked a car with a drone, in which 71-year-old Roman Matviychuk was with the driver.

On January 6, an ecologist of the city council, Volodymyr Shum, was killed in a Russian drone attack on a minibus in Kherson.
