A session of the city council has been convened in Mykolaiv. The agenda includes decisions concerning the future of the city's key utility companies.
The relevant order was signed by the mayor Oleksandr Senkevych.
Mykolaiv City Council has announced that the regular fifty-first session of the VIII convocation will be held on February 26, 2026 at 11:00 am. The meeting will be held remotely via video conference and will be broadcast on the City Council's YouTube channel and the official website of the Council, which guarantees open access for city residents.
The agenda of the session includes a range of topical issues. The deputies plan to review amendments to the city budget and discuss the allocation of funds for the current needs of utilities and social programs. Particular attention will be paid to land issues, including granting permits for the use of city plots and determining the conditions for their further management.
Among the important decisions to be considered at the session is the approval of the jury of the Korabelnyi District Court of Mykolaiv. The deputies are also expected to approve the transfer of the right to use municipal property to several city enterprises, including Mykolaivelectrotrans, a municipal specialized installation and maintenance enterprise, the State Department of Public Works,Mykolaivoblteploenergo and Mykolaiv Parks.
This decision will ensure the operation of transport, repair, construction and utility services, maintenance of heat and power facilities, and improvement of the city's green areas. Each issue is accompanied by explanatory notes that provide detailed justification for the need to grant usufruct rights to the respective enterprises.
On February 3, 2026, the session of the Mykolaiv City Council, which began on December 30, continued. They tried to end the session on January 29 this year, but again lacked a quorum.
Also, during the session on December 30, deputies of the Mykolaiv City Council approved protected budget items for 2026. The mayor, Oleksandr Senkevych, said that they wanted to consider "protected items" and priority expenditures first, and then consider capital expenditures. However, it turned out that even the first part of the budget lacked funds. Therefore, the deputies also appealed to the Verkhovna Rada to provide a subvention so that the city could survive the next year.
