Mykolaiv has allocated almost UAH 370 million to eliminate illegal landfills. These funds will be used for the systematic cleaning of large and local areas of the city to improve the sanitary condition and level of improvement.

The relevant decision was made at a session of the Mykolaiv City Council.

The Mykolaiv City Council has amended the Program for Reforming and Developing Housing and Communal Services for 2025-2029. One of the key updates is a new version of the measure to eliminate unauthorized landfills, which will allow for systematic cleaning of the city.

The main executors will be Mykolaivkomuntrans and Obriy-DKP, which will be responsible for cleaning large areas and removing garbage. The district administrations of the Central, Zavodsky, Ingulsky and Korabelny districts will receive funds for local work, including cleaning the adjacent territories and improving small landfills.

More than UAH 370 million is allocated to eliminate unauthorized landfills and clean up the city's territories over the next five years. The largest portion of the funds - UAH 262.5 million - will be allocated to the Housing and Utilities Department of the City Council and Mykolaivkomunktrans for cleaning large areas and regular garbage collection.

Another 57.9 million hryvnias will be allocated for local cleaning and landscaping of adjacent territories through the housing and communal services department of the city council and Obriy-DKP. District administrations will receive smaller amounts: Central district - UAH 22 million, Zavodsky district - UAH 9.05 million, Ingulsky district - UAH 9.3 million, and Korabelny district - UAH 9.6 million.

The main contractors will be Mykolaivkomuntrans and Obriy-DKP, which will be responsible for cleaning large areas and removing garbage.

In August 2025, the city council in Mykolaiv was searched in connection with a tender for a waste sorting line. Law enforcement officers were checking for possible violations during the project.
