In Mykolaiv, the city council is being searched because of a tender for a waste sorting line. Law enforcement officers are seizing documents and checking for possible violations during the project.

This was reported by MikVisti.

According to media reports, investigators from the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office and the Main Department of the National Police conducted searches in the city council. Law enforcement officers seized documents related to the tender for a household waste sorting line. The criminal proceedings were opened following media reports about possible violations during the tender.

Over the past week, national TV channels and telegram channels with a large audience have been publishing daily stories about the project, accusing the authorities of trying to "push the project through a ghost company without staff, equipment, and experience."

Recently, the city authorities held an open tender for the construction of a sorting station, which was won by West Tu Energy Niko. According to the company's director, the project will be implemented entirely at the expense of the company, with investments of 150 to 200 million hryvnias. Construction is scheduled to be completed within 13 months.

As noted in the publication, the day before, the city council held a video meeting of deputies with Dmytro Honcharov, director of West Tu Energy LLC. During the conversation, they discussed the results of the tender, financial aspects of the project, changes in the tariff for garbage collection, the company's experience, investment, and the expected profit of the company.

According to the YouControl service, the company was registered in 2021 with an authorized capital of UAH 1 million. The main KVED is the recovery of sorted waste. The founder is Oleksandr Vynnyk. The company's liabilities in 2024 amounted to more than 50 thousand, and no tenders have been listed yet.

In January 2025, Mykolaiv City Council was ordered by the court to build a sorting station for household waste. The Supreme Court, upholding the decision of the Fifth Administrative Court of Appeal, found the prosecutor's arguments to be substantiated and confirmed the illegality of the city council's inaction on the project. After that, Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych ordered the approval of an action plan aimed at solving environmental problems in the city.
