On Monday, November 18, the G20 summit will begin in Brazil to discuss the war in Ukraine. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that Ukraine will be able to count on many friends.

Olaf Scholz reported this on the social network X.

He stated that it would be an illusion on the part of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin to believe that support for Ukraine would weaken. Thus, Scholz launched the message before the G20 meeting, which he will attend in person.

"Ukraine can count on many friends in the world - especially Germany. It would be an illusion on Putin's part to believe that our support will weaken. This is an important message for the G20 meeting, to which I am now chairing," he said in a statement.

Ukraine has confirmed its participation in the G20 summit in Brazil, where its position will be presented in all important discussions. This was announced earlier by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy after a conversation with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of joint efforts to ensure stable peace and trust in international relations.

Meanwhile, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin will not attend the summit due to an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court. Instead, the Russian delegation will be headed by Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

On November 17, Ukraine was under massive Russian shelling. The invaders launched attack drones, cruise missiles, and aerial ballistic missiles at Ukraine, including its energy sector. There is damage to facilities from hits and falling debris. In Mykolaiv, a drone attack killed two people and injured six others, including two children. A Russian attack in Odesa region also killed two people and injured a 17-year-old boy.

On November 18, Ukrenergo announced the return of blackout schedules. All regions will be forced to apply consumption restrictions.
