Russian special services recruited a 19-year-old student for a terrorist attack in Mykolaiv. She was supposed to plant explosives near the police administrative building.

According to the press service of the National Police in Mykolaiv region, the terrorist attack was prevented and the girl was detained.

According to the investigation, the resident of Mykolaiv region was offered a monetary reward via one of the messengers. According to the instructions, she had to pick up an explosive device in a certain place and leave it near the administrative building of law enforcement. As soon as she completed the task and notified the customers, the enemy tried to activate the explosive by calling a cell phone connected to the improved device.

The tragedy was averted thanks to the prompt work of the security forces. The girl was detained immediately after planting the explosives, and explosive experts neutralized the dangerous device. Among its components was a mobile phone that was planned to be used for remote detonation. There is reason to believe that the girl could also have been a victim of the explosion.

The prosecutor's office added that investigators have already served the 19-year-old girl with a notice of suspicion of an unfinished attempt to commit a terrorist act (Part 3 of Article 15, Part 1 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The student faces up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.
