During martial law, Mykolaiv medical institutions worked continuously. Over the year, doctors provided care to more than 50,000 patients.

This was reported by the press service of the Mykolaiv City Council.

In Mykolaiv, primary, secondary, and specialized medicine is provided by 18 healthcare facilities. Over 51,000 patients were treated over the year, including 3,082 children. They performed 2168 deliveries, including 32 twins.

The doctors also helped the victims of the hostilities: 6925 people, including 6799 military personnel. City Hospital No. 1 performed 958 coronary angiograms, and the hemodialysis unit performed 4139 procedures for 42 patients.

UAH 9 million was allocated from the city budget to purchase materials and support the work of key departments. Hospital #4 performed 1049 plastic surgeries, including 290 for the military. Rehabilitation assistance was provided to 3336 people, including 231 military personnel.

Throughout the year, the city attracted 8120 donors, which became an important support in this difficult time.

For 2025, Mykolaiv has allocated more than two hundred million from the budget for healthcare. It is currently planned to allocate more funds to hospitals, maternity hospitals, and benefit programs.

The city authorities have also allocated more than 19 million for capital works in medical institutions. It is planned to build a children's diagnostic center with a bomb shelter, create a rehabilitation center for war victims at Hospital No. 4, and reconstruct Maternity Hospital No. 3 to create a perinatal center.

On January 1, 2025, the reform will start: the MSEC will be replaced by an assessment of daily functioning. It is expected that the path to disability status will be significantly simplified for people, as most processes will be shortened and digitalized. It is planned to open 37 such expert teams in Mykolaiv.
