Regional Tactical Center gives details of attack on military in Odesa

The Odesa Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support has reported an emergency incident that occurred while servicemen were performing their lawful duties.

According to the regional TSC, it was an attack on a serviceman on February 14 in the Prymorskyi district of Odesa.

According to the TCC, a joint alert group stopped the citizen to check his military registration documents. However, before the verification procedure began, the person committed an armed attack using a knife. As a result of the armed attack, one of the servicemen was injured.

"The priority for the group's personnel was to provide emergency assistance to the wounded colleague and save his life, which the attacker used to flee the scene."
The injured serviceman was promptly hospitalized. He is currently receiving the necessary medical care. His condition is stable," the regional military and police center said.

Investigative actions and measures to establish the whereabouts and detention of the attacker are underway. The legal qualification of the incident will be provided by the authorized bodies within the framework of criminal proceedings.

This is not the first case of an attack on military territorial centers equipped with a knife or something else in Odesa region. In January, in Odesa region, servicemen of the RTCC and the JFO were attacked during a drill. The attacker tried to escape, and the driver who helped him was already detained. During the document check, one of the citizens, instead of complying with the legal requirements, pulled out a screwdriver and started attacking the soldiers.

On December 28, a person suspected of committing an attack on a serviceman was identified and detained in Odesa during a warning operation. It was a man who had stabbed a CCC soldier. During the detention, the offender tried to escape and actively resisted the law enforcement officers. However, the man was detained due to the involvement of an additional police unit.

Previously, a resident of Odesa region was sentenced to probation for stabbing a military CCC member with a knife. On June 12, 2025, at about 19:00, the convict was walking down the street of Odesa and was stopped by representatives of the territorial center for recruitment and social support, who asked the man for documents, but he sprayed tear gas at them and stabbed one of the military with a knife in the chest. The injuries were recognized as light.
