The principals of eight schools in the occupied territory helped the occupiers organize the educational process in educational institutions according to the Russian curriculum. Now they face up to 12 years in prison.

According to the Kherson regional police, these are the principals of eight schools in the temporarily occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions. Before the full-scale invasion of Russia, they worked as teachers of various subjects in these institutions. Later, for their cooperation with the occupiers, they were promoted to senior positions as school principals. They not only introduced an educational program based on Russian standards, but also organized "friendly events" with the participation of representatives of educational institutions from Russia and Belarus. Speaking on TV channels, they spread Russian narratives about the "united brotherly people" and "native Russian lands."

Currently, National Police investigators have served the heads of these schools with a notice of suspicion of aiding the aggressor state in absentia. According to Ukrainian law, this crime is punishable by up to 12 years in prison with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to 15 years, as well as with or without confiscation of property.

Earlier, a 52-year-old woman who voluntarily agreed to take the position of "first vice-rector" of the "state budgetary educational institution of higher education of Kherson region, Kherson Agrarian University" was suspected. A 46-year-old resident of Kherson, who illegally took over the Kherson Specialized School No.37 seized by Russians, was also suspected. Investigators classified his actions as collaboration. The man faces imprisonment for up to three years with disqualification to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of 10 to 15 years.
