Police investigate shooting of four civilian men in Kherson region

The National Police of Kherson Region is establishing the circumstances of a crime committed by Russian invaders in the spring of 2022. Investigators of the regional department are currently collecting evidence on this episode.

According to the investigation, on a plot opposite a house on Vyzvolyteliv Street, Russian soldiers shot four men aged 25 to 40 with firearms. As of today, only one of the deceased has been identified, the other three remain unidentified. Law enforcers are looking for witnesses to the incident and are appealing to citizens for help in identifying the victims.

Earlier, Intent wrote that the Kherson police are investigating the shooting of a civilian car by the Russian military on Beryslavske highway in Kherson. Two local residents were killed in the shelling on March 1, 2022.

Investigators of the Department for Investigation of Crimes Committed in the Context of Armed Conflict of the Main Department of the National Police in Kherson Region are establishing the circumstances of the shooting of civilians in Kherson, which occurred at the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

According to the investigation, on March 1, 2022, at about 11:15 a.m., on Beryslavske Highway in Kherson, Russian Federation servicemen opened fire on a blue VAZ 2101 civilian car. The shelling killed two local residents - a 48-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman.

Law enforcement officials emphasized that this crime is a gross violation of international humanitarian law, in particular the Geneva Conventions, which prohibit attacks on civilians during hostilities. The police are currently collecting evidence, establishing the circumstances of the incident and identifying the persons involved in the murder. Law enforcement officials are calling on citizens to help with the investigation.
