In Mykolaiv, more than 200 people joined a rally in support of captured and missing soldiers. The participants also honored the memory of those killed in Kryvyi Rih.

This was reported by Suspilne. Mykolaiv.

Relatives, friends, and concerned citizens came to the weekly rally to commemorate prisoners of war and missing defenders. Participants also observed a minute of silence for the victims of the Kryvyi Rih attack, including children who were victims of a missile attack by Russian troops.

Among the participants was a resident of the city, Yulia. Her husband went missing in January 2025 in the Kursk direction along with his comrades. According to the woman, the command has not yet provided the relatives with any specific information, and all the missing are officially considered missing. The families are asking for publicity to draw attention to this problem and help find their loved ones.

Another participant, Lidiya, came to the event with her mother. The girl attends these events every Sunday. This time, she was holding a poster with the words "Mykolaiv together with Kryvyi Rih" that she had made the night before. In this way, she wanted to show that Mykolaiv residents empathize with the tragedy that occurred in Kryvyi Rih and that its residents were not left alone with the pain.

The action lasted for an hour and ended with a minute of silence to honor the dead civilians.

According to Mykhailo Morozov, head of the police's preventive communication sector, the event was attended by more than 200 people.

Meanwhile, on April 6, participants of the weekly rally in support of prisoners of war and missing persons in Odesa held a silent rally to mourn the victims of the Russian missile attack on Kryvyi Rih. The rally was dedicated to the terrorist attack, when the aggressor ruthlessly hit civilians, including children, with a missile.

Last time, more than 250 Mykolaiv residents took part in the rally to support prisoners of war and missing defenders. Their families do not lose hope and urge society to remember those who have not yet returned from the war.

At the end of March, 175 Ukrainian soldiers returned from Russian captivity as part of one of the largest exchanges, and another 22 defenders are returning home outside of the exchange procedures. Among those released were marines from Mykolaiv region who defended Ukraine in Mariupol, at Azovstal, as well as in Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, and Kursk regions.

According to the Ministry of Defense, at least 177 Ukrainian prisoners have been killed in Russian prisons since the start of the full-scale invasion. As international control over the detention centers is limited, the true number of victims could be much higher.
