The Odesa Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support responded to a video recording showing members of the alert group beating a man who had just been pulled out of a car.

The video also shows that the vehicle was damaged during the process of pulling the man out of the car.

Before putting the man in the TCC car, one of the members of the alert group struck him several times in the torso while two others held his arms. At the same time, police officers present at the scene advised the injured man to call the police.

The incident took place on January 19 on Sofiyivska Street in the center of Odesa. The regional TCC stated that the military beat the man solely to stop the illegal actions and to ensure the possibility of processing administrative materials.

<span>"The alert group of one of the district TCCs and JVs acted on the call of the National Police of Ukraine to draw up administrative materials in relation to a citizen who, according to the police, was wanted for violating the rules of military registration. All actions were carried out in the presence of representatives of the National Police.</span> During the inspection and clarification of the circumstances, the citizen was asked to provide military registration documents and to follow the police to draw up an administrative protocol and clarify his credentials. The citizen refused to comply with the legal requirements and resisted," the regional TCC said.

According to the regional TCC, information about intentional beating and damage to the vehicle or abuse of power requires a separate check. An internal investigation has been initiated into the incident, which will provide a legal assessment of the actions of all participants, taking into account video footage and materials compiled by the National Police. If violations are found, the perpetrators will be punished.
