In Izmail, 6 million will be allocated to support IDPs

Izmail has amended the city's Program of Social Support for Internally Displaced Persons for 2026. The total amount of funding is almost 6 million, which is provided from the community budget.

This was reported by Intent with reference to the decision of the executive committee of the Izmail City Council of March 20.

The key focus of the program is to provide housing, food and basic living conditions for IDPs, as well as to develop infrastructure to accommodate them.

The largest part of the budget is earmarked for the arrangement of temporary accommodation and repairs of facilities.

Capital repairs and infrastructure:

In total, more than UAH 2.3 million is provided for major repairs.

Arrangement of places of residence:

In total, UAH 1.75 million will be allocated for the arrangement of places of residence.

To ensure energy independence, the authorities will purchase a 100 kW diesel generator for 700 thousand hryvnias, and spend 400 thousand hryvnias on air conditioners and their installation. The total amount of UAH 1.1 million will be spent to improve autonomy and living conditions.

Food and social support:

Free meals for IDP children in schools and kindergartens are provided separately within the educational budget.

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, 169 internally displaced persons have already been accommodated in the city. In 2025, the city will start creating 100 additional places, some of which are adapted for people with limited mobility.

The main facilities for IDPs will be the center for social and psychological rehabilitation of children and the Veselka kindergarten on Klushina Street.

The program also includes repairs of evacuation routes and the creation of barrier-free space; current and capital repairs (the scope is being specified) and co-financing of humanitarian and social projects.

Also, at a meeting on February 25, the Executive Committee of the Izmail City Council decided to amend the Program for the Development of Barrier-Free Space for 2026. The total amount of funding for the Program's activities during the year is over UAH 12 million.
