In Mykolaiv, a court has imposed a pre-trial restraint on a man suspected of attacking a police officer and a soldier during mobilization activities.

The relevant ruling was made by the Central District Court of Mykolaiv.

According to the investigation, the incident occurred on March 17 on Heroiv Ukrayiny Avenue. During the check of military registration documents, the man behaved aggressively, and later, in the car, he pulled out a knife and stabbed the police officer in the stomach.

The law enforcement officer was hospitalized with a penetrating abdominal wound. A TCC serviceman was also wounded during the detention.

The suspect was detained the same day. He is charged with an attempt on the life of a law enforcement officer and obstructing the activities of the military.

In court, the man denied the suspicion and stated that he acted in self-defense, as he did not know that he was facing law enforcement officers.

The court, taking into account the severity of the charges and the risks of absconding, imposed a pre-trial restraint in the form of detention without bail until May 16, 2026.

Earlier, Intent wrote that in Mykolaiv, a TCC officer was notified of suspicion for beating conscripts during mobilization. More than 30 complaints from citizens pointed to systemic violence.

Also in Voznesenskiy district, law enforcement officers are investigating the circumstances of a possible kidnapping. According to a 40-year-old local resident, he was held in a locked room for almost two weeks by the military of one of the TCCs and JVs, after which he turned to the police on January 6, immediately after the holidays.

As a reminder, Mykolaiv region ranks second in terms of fines for military registration among the southern regions. The number of unpaid fines for violations of military registration in Ukraine is growing, with more than 9,000 proceedings opened since the beginning of the year.

The Korabelnyi District Court of Mykolaiv canceled a UAH 17,000 fine imposed by the territorial recruitment center on a father with many children for allegedly violating the rules of military registration.
