Massive shelling continues to destroy Ukraine's port infrastructure: after the latest attack in Odesa region alone, the number of damaged facilities approached 750. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, 156 civilian vessels have also been damaged.

This was reported by the press service of the State Enterprise "Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority".

Head of the State Enterprise "Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority" Mykola Kravchuk met in Kyiv with representatives of JASPERS, the advisory program of the European Investment Bank (EIB). The parties focused on preparing investment projects that can be implemented immediately after the security situation stabilizes.

The need for systematic restoration of port infrastructure is growing amid regular shelling. In particular, the latest night attack in Odesa region increased the number of damaged facilities to almost 750. At the same time, 156 civilian vessels have been damaged since the beginning of the full-scale war, and the total number of injured and killed in ports has reached 240 people.

During the meeting, Kravchuk outlined the key challenges faced by the industry and identified priorities: protecting and restoring infrastructure, modernizing the fleet, and implementing modern digital solutions.

The parties paid special attention to approaches to rebuilding and modernizing ports in accordance with European standards. JASPERS confirmed its readiness to support USPA in building an investment portfolio focused on the long-term sustainability of the industry.

As a result of the negotiations, the parties agreed to start working together to analyze and prioritize projects to attract international funding. It is not only about restoring what has been destroyed, but also about strengthening the role of Ukrainian ports in European logistics.

Since the beginning of 2026, the ports of Odesa and Chornomorsk have been attacked by Russians 180 times, which is more than in the entire year of 2025. At the same time, the enemy has begun to use drones more often for these attacks. At the same time, the effectiveness of the downing has already increased by 25-35% in percentage terms
