Odesa region ranks fifth in Ukraine in terms of the number of new companies with women directors.
This was reported by Opendatabot analysts.
According to experts, there are 2,391 such companies in Odesa region. However, most new companies with female directors are traditionally registered in the capital - 12,290 businesses. This is followed by Lviv region (3,154 companies), Dnipropetrovs'k region (2,989), and Kyiv region (2,399).
However, if we look at the percentage of women among the heads of new companies, Mykolaiv region is in the lead: 42% of newly created companies there are headed by women. High rates are also found in Chernihiv (38%), Zaporizhzhia (37%), Kirovohrad (37%), and Zakarpattia (36%) regions.
Instead, the lowest share of women directors is in Lviv (30%), Ivano-Frankivsk (30%), Khmelnytsky (32%), Zhytomyr and Rivne regions (33% each).

Nevertheless, the number of new companies run by women increased significantly over the year in Ivano-Frankivsk (by 27%), Mykolaiv (by 24%), and Volyn (by 20%).
The wholesale trade sector leads the way in terms of the number of female directors of newly created companies: 5,429 businesses, or 15% of the total. This is followed by non-governmental organizations, real estate, IT, and building construction.
At the same time, the largest gender imbalance is in new travel agencies: although not many new businesses have opened in this sector, the share of female directors there has reached 61%. In terms of the share of managers, women also dominate in the fields of creativity and art, employment, HoReCa, and public administration and defense.
At the same time, there are industries where women are still minimally represented. Among new security companies, only 7% are headed by women. The share of women is also low in financial services and insurance, metallurgy, telecommunications, and construction of engineering structures. Overall, 12,757 new companies were headed by women in 2025.
