Odesa-based football club Chornomorets celebrates its 90th anniversary. On this occasion, the club's CEO Valeriy Deordiev addressed the fans, players and the entire football community with a solemn greeting and outlined the team's development plans.

In his address, Mr. Deordiev emphasized that Chornomorets embodies the legendary Odesa spirit, unbreakable character and desire to win. According to him, in difficult times, the team remains a symbol of unity and hope for the city, and the atmosphere at the stadium during the first official match of 2026 only confirmed this.

The club manager also recalled the rich history of the Seafarers, who have been played by famous players and coached by titled coaches over the years. Among them are Vitalii Porkuyan, Ihor Belanov, Yurii Tsymbalar, and mentors such as Semen Altman and Roman Hryhorchuk. The club is the first winner of the Ukrainian Cup and a multiple winner of the national championship.

The statement paid special attention to the team's future. Currently,Chornomorets is actively developing its own academy, which employs more than 20 coaches. The pupils are being prepared to join the second team, which is led by former club player Denys Kolchin, with the prospect of being included in the main team and even the Ukrainian national team.

The club emphasizes that its development strategy is based on investing in young people and forming a new generation of players capable of continuing the winning traditions of the Odesa team.

Concluding his address, the CEO expressed hope that by the next anniversary, FC Chornomorets will be able to return to participating in European competitions, and announced the start of a year of celebrations and events dedicated to the club's 90th anniversary.

In January, Roman Hryhorchuk officially took over as the head of FC Chornomorets Odesa, as the club signed a contract with the coach whose name is closely associated with the history of the Seafarers. He promised to work to the fullest and, together with the fans, restore the atmosphere of vibrant and effective football at the Odesa stadium.
