Roman Hryhorchuk has officially taken over as the head of FC Chornomorets Odesa, as the club signed a contract with the coach whose name is closely associated with the history of the Seafarers. He promised to work to the fullest and, together with the fans, restore the atmosphere of vibrant and effective football at the Odesa stadium.

This was reported by the press service of the Chornomorets football club.

Mr. Hryhorchuk emphasized that this is not just another appointment for him, but an opportunity to relive the emotions of a full-fledged football life together with the fans. He said that he dreams of seeing a packed stadium and a team that demonstrates a meaningful and competitive game, and promised to do his best to justify the trust of the club and the supporters of Chornomorets.

The coach thanked the fans for their support, emphasizing that it is the interaction between the team and the stands that creates a real football atmosphere. According to him, without this, it is impossible to achieve stable results and build a strong club.

At the same time, the press service noted that the club's management considers Grigorchuk 's appointment as part of a long-term development strategy. Ahead is the formation of a team, building a game model, and hard work that should lay the groundwork for a new ambitious period in the history of the Odesa club.

At the beginning of 2025, Roman Hryhorchuk, who had previously coached the Sailors twice, took over the Cherkasy club. His staff then included MykhailoSavka, Andrii Hlushchenko, and Serhii Politylo, who also worked at the Odesa club.

Prior to that, in Odesa, Chornomorets football club announced the termination of cooperation with its head coach Oleksandr Kucher. The contract was terminated by mutual agreement. He took over the team in March 2025, when the club simultaneously transferred the previous coach Oleksandr Babych to the position of sports director and introduced a new coach, 42-year-old Kucher.
