Odesa Detectives Indict 2 for Illegal Fuel Sales Worth ₴13.5M

Detectives of the Territorial Department of the Bureau of Economic Security in Odesa region have sent to court an indictment against two men who organized the sale of illegally produced fuel on an industrial scale in Odesa region.

This was reported by the press service of the BES.

The investigation established that a resident of Bilyayivka, who was not registered as an entrepreneur, bought illegally produced fuel of unknown origin at significantly lower market prices during 2024.

Later, he sold gasoline and diesel fuel without permits. To do this, the man rented several land plots in the cities of Bilyayivka and Teplodar, where he installed special filling equipment. He also engaged his friend to increase sales.

"Detectives conducted more than 20 authorized searches and seized 65.7 tons of diesel fuel and gasoline. In addition, 31 containers and columns for the sale of fuels and lubricants, a mobile gas station based on a car were seized.

The total value of the seized property is over UAH 13.5 million," said Serhii Muntyan, Head of the SBU Department in Odesa region.

The defendants were served a notice of suspicion of committing a criminal offense stipulated by Part 2 Art. 28 (committing a crime by a group of persons), Part 1 Art. 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal manufacture, storage, sale or transportation for the purpose of selling excisable goods). The indictment was sent to court.

Earlier, detectives of the Territorial Department of the Bureau of Economic Security in Odesa region completed a pre-trial investigation against the director of a utility company of Odesa City Council on tax evasion in especially large amounts.
