On the night of September 8, the town of Vilkovo in Odesa region was attacked by Russian unmanned aerial vehicles launched from Crimea.

This was reported by the press service of the "South" operational command.

The military reported that civilian infrastructure was damaged, including a hotel and restaurant complex. There were no casualties. Instead, border guards reported that they managed to shoot down two drones.

18:39 As of 18:30, 12 private households affected by the Russian attack have been inspected in Izmail district. Damage to the buildings ranges from 30 to 70%. In the near future, it is planned to inspect apartment buildings (where windows are broken) and a damaged hotel complex.

Earlier, the Romanian publication hotnews.ro reported that a group of Russian Shahed attack drones violated Romanian airspace on the evening of September 7, which led to warnings to residents of Tulcea and Constanta counties about the risk of objects falling from the airspace.

The unmanned aerial vehicle was flying over the territory of Romania in the Sabandzia region, flew through Vilkovo and continued to fly over the coastal waters of the Gulf of Odesa.

The city of Sabandzia is located in Romania on the shores of Lake Razem, about 40 kilometers from the border with Ukraine.

Later, the Air Force Command reported that on the night of September 8, the occupiers struck with four X-59 guided missiles from Belgorod region of the Russian Federation and 23 Shahed attack UAVs.

As a result of the air battle, one X-59 guided missile and 15 Shahed attack UAVs were shot down. In addition, two enemy drones allegedly fell under the influence of radar countermeasures. Also, three X-59 missiles failed to reach their intended targets due to active countermeasures by the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

Air defense was operating in Odesa, Kharkiv, and Dnipro regions.

Russian drones regularly enter the airspace of Ukraine's neighboring countries. This is not the first time Romania has recorded such cases. For example, in late July, Romania discovered the alleged wreckage of downed drones used by Russia to attack the south of Odesa region. They were found near the village of Plauru, on the Romanian coast opposite Izmail.

During the attack of Russian drones in Odesa region on the night of February 10, Romania issued a warning to the population of border settlements and raised F-16 fighters.
