More than UAH 24 million will be spent on the overhaul of 6-a Slobidska Street (from Central Avenue to 1 Voennaya Street). After the works are completed, traffic on this section will become two-way.

This is evidenced by data from the ProZorro public procurement system.

The customer for the overhaul is the Department of Housing and Communal Services, and the scheduled completion date for all work is June 30, 2026. According to the terms of the tender documentation, the contractor must carry out a complete renovation of the site. This includes removing the old asphalt concrete by milling, dismantling and disassembling the old side stones.

Next, the contractor will lay new concrete curbs, arrange a new road surface, and install new curbs and tactile plates to ensure accessibility. The final stage will be the organization of comprehensive landscaping of the adjacent territory.

Earlier, Mykolaiv Executive Committee decided to create two-way traffic on the street as part of the overhaul.

"These changes will be implemented by widening the roadway by no more than one lane by including a tram track on the even side of 6th Slobodskaya Street to the limits of this roadway at the same level," the city council said.

As a reminder, Mykolaiv region is among the leaders in terms of the number of violations in the field of automotive safety. Over the past 9 months, more than 400 violations have been recorded here.

Thus, Mykolaiv region is among the regions with the highest number of recorded violations, second only to Kyiv (1169 violations) and Dnipropetrovska oblast (527 violations).

This year, Ukrtransbezpeka also started recording violations at new WIM complexes, in particular in Mykolaiv (WIM 52), Chernivtsi (WIM 84), and Kharkiv (WIM 62) regions. Currently, there are 58 WIM sites operating throughout Ukraine.
