Mykolaiv tax authorities have identified dozens of suspicious financial transactions that could be linked to money laundering or terrorist financing. Based on these materials, law enforcement officers opened criminal proceedings.

This was reported by the press service of the State Tax Service in Mykolaiv region.

In January-May 2025, experts of the State Tax Service in Mykolaiv region conducted a series of analytical studies on transactions that may be related to money laundering or terrorist financing. As a result, the materials were transferred to law enforcement agencies and 8 criminal proceedings were opened.

The tax authorities prepared 21 analytical reports on suspicious financial transactions. Four of them were prepared at the request of the Police Investigation Department, two at the request of the Security Service of Ukraine in the region, one at the request of the State Bureau of Investigation in Mykolaiv, and one at the request of the regional prosecutor's office. The remaining 13 conclusions were drawn up on the initiative of the tax inspectorate.

According to the press service, the materials of the collected research were transferred to the relevant law enforcement agencies: 4 - to the police, 2 - to the SBU, 1 - to the State Bureau of Investigation, 14 - to the prosecutor's office. As a result of this work, law enforcement officers opened eight criminal proceedings, and in relation to five companies, they decided to attach the collected materials to existing cases.

The State Tax Service notes that the work to prevent financial crimes and terrorist financing in the Mykolaiv region continues.

Recently, the court canceled the seizure of 1390 tons of soybeans belonging to Lebedynskyi Seed Plant, which was imposed as part of a fraud investigation . The seizure had been in effect since December 2024, but the court rejected the company's request to change the place of storage of the grain.

At the same time, an investigation is underway against a Pivdenoukrainsk-based company suspected of using fictitious companies to evade taxes and launder money. The court granted investigators temporary access to documents and items that may relate to financial fraud involving officials of a local joint-stock company.
