Mykolaiv's 2024 Urban Planning Projects Exceed ₴1.5 Billion in Spending

In 2024, the most expensive procurements of the Department of Urban Planning and Architecture of Mykolaiv Regional State Administration concerned the repair of educational institutions, the construction of shelters and the reconstruction of water supply. More than UAH 1.5 billion was spent on the most expensive procurements.

Intent decided to find out how much budget funds were spent on the most expensive procurements according to the data of the Izi.trade trading platform.

The Department started the year with the new construction of the Blahodatne, Matrosivka, Vynohradne, Koblevo, Fedorivka, Lymani, and Luparevo fortifications, "Chervone Parutyne, Novoselivka, Parutyne, Osetrivka, Southeastern Lupareve, Southwestern Tavriyske, and Catalina fortifications , for which more than UAH 332 million was planned.

Separately, more than UAH 160 million was allocated for the barrier strip of airborne access areas D1, D2, D3, D4, D5.

The construction of a shelter at the Mykolaiv Regional Clinical Hospital has also begun, with over UAH 93 million allocated. UAH 69.8 million was planned for the shelter for Mykolaiv Regional Children's Clinical Hospital. The reconstruction of the polyclinic building of the Bashtanka Multidisciplinary Hospital cost more than UAH 204 million, and the medical building - more than UAH 144 million.

As for educational institutions, the overhaul of the dormitory building of the Mykolaiv Professional College of Physical Culture cost about 59.3 million. And the reconstruction of kindergarten No. 4 in the village of Trykratne, Voznesensk district, cost UAH 75.4 million.

UAH 56.2 million was planned for the reconstruction of the Koblivka pre-school "Sonechko" and UAH 16.4 million for the reconstruction of the Bilozirsk pre-school "Cheburashka".

With regard to protective structures, the expected cost of overhauling the radiation protection shelter of Stepkivska secondary school is UAH 19.3 million, the shelter for Nechayansky lyceum is UAH 34.5 million, and Radsadovsky lyceum is UAH 17.2 million.

UAH 72.8 million was allocated for the new construction of a dual-purpose shelter with protective properties for Lyceum No. 4 in Mykolaiv. And UAH 23.4 million was allocated for the storage facility of Mykolaiv Polytechnic Vocational College.

The reconstruction of a 1000 mm water pipe in the Bohoyavlensky district from 2 Sichova Street to Prymiska Street cost UAH 32.4 million, along Molodizhna Street from Prymiska Street to Turbinna Street - UAH 35.5 million, and along Flotska Street from Parusny Lane to A. Sheptytskoho Street - UAH 12.5 million.

UAH 33.3 million was allocated for the reconstruction of the water supply system along Heroiv Ukrayiny Avenue and along Parusnyi Lane to Flotska Street, and UAH 12.8 million was allocated for the reconstruction of Sadova Street and Naberezhna Street from Nikolska Street to the Ingul River.

In total, more than UAH 1.5 billion was spent on the implementation of these projects from the state and local budgets. Despite the significant investments in the development of the region, the issue of the effectiveness of the use of funds and control over their utilization remains open.

In 2024, Mykolaiv Parkswillspendsignificant funds to purchase machinery, upgrade equipment, and maintain the city's green areas. At the beginning of the year, more than UAH 48 million was allocated for these needs, but funding increased throughout the year, and by the end of the year, expenditures reached UAH 89 million. The main funds were used to maintain parks and squares, plant new trees and flowers, and maintain irrigation systems.

In turn, Mykolaivvodokanalmadepurchases worth more than half a billion hryvnias in 2024. The largest expenditures were related to the reconstruction of water supply networks, including the replacement of old pipes, modernization of pumping stations and installation of new filtration systems.
