Residents of Mykolaiv complained to local authorities about the critical situation with garbage collection. Currently, the underground containers in the adjacent territory are completely full, and their emptying is systematically ignored by the utilities.
This became known from the Contact Center at Mykolaiv City Council.
In Mykolaiv, residents of two houses at 50-a and 50 Loginova Street filed an urgent complaint about the critical situation with garbage collection.
According to the residents, the problem has been going on for three months. Repeated appeals to the Mykolaivkomuntrans utility company have yielded only temporary results - the garbage has been removed several times, but the situation has not improved. In response to citizens' requests, the utility explained the delays by various reasons: from the driver's illness to broken special equipment. In response to the latest appeal, the company stated that garbage collection was impossible, without providing a specific timeframe for solving the problem.
The citizens are outraged that despite the lack of proper waste collection, they continue to pay the increased tariff. The cost of the service has increased from UAH 28.78 to UAH 45.41, and the subscription fee has increased from UAH 3.41 to UAH 6.05. At the same time, household waste accumulates in the yards, rotting, causing an unpleasant odor and creating unsanitary conditions. Janitors are forced to clean the area every day, but utility workers do not clean up the scattered garbage when they unload containers.
They insist on the urgent intervention of the relevant services, as the situation threatens not only the sanitary condition of the area, but also people's health. They demand an immediate solution to the problem.
Residents of the Velyka Korenyha neighborhood are also raising the alarm about a spontaneous landfill that has formed in the yard at 16 Ukrainska Street. One of the residents systematically accumulates plastic bottles, branches and other waste, which creates unbearable living conditions. In addition, the dump attracts rodents, including rats and mice.
At the end of January, residents of Mykolaiv's private sector again faced the problem of untimely garbage collection. Utilities refuse to pick up fallen leaves. For example, residents of a house at 69 Lambertovskaya Street reported that Mykolaivkomuntrans failed to remove packed bags of leaves, explaining the refusal by their excessive weight.
