Mykolaiv residents have been allocated 471 million under the "eRestoration" program. Most residents will receive assistance for repairs or certificates for new housing. However, there are those who have decided to rebuild from scratch: six owners of destroyed houses will use the compensation to build in their own yards.
These data as of March 2026 were announced during a briefing by Ihor Nabatov, First Deputy Director of the Mykolaiv Housing and Communal Services Department.
In total, the city residents submitted 5.3 thousand applications, of which the specialists processed the majority. As of today, 3071 applications have been approved, while the rest of the applicants were denied due to non-compliance with the requirements of the Cabinet of Ministers' resolution, lack of rights to compensation or damage to common areas only.
The total amount of payments is divided into two categories: 163 million hryvnias will be used to repair damaged housing, and 308 million will be used to compensate for completely destroyed properties. According to the official, the pace of payments in Mykolaiv is average in Ukraine, given the number of applications.
Nabatov drew special attention to the method of implementing compensation for destroyed property. While 295 applicants chose traditional housing certificates to buy ready-made real estate, six Mykolaiv residents took advantage of a rare opportunity to receive direct cash payments. They plan to use the money to build new houses directly on their own land plots where their destroyed homes used to stand.
Earlier, Mykolaiv announced a tender for the reconstruction of a sewer collector on Chkalova Street, with more than UAH 59 million to be spent on the work. The project involves a complete replacement of worn-out networks and modernization of the infrastructure with a deadline of the end of 2026.
