In Mykolaiv region, 671 housing vouchers totaling UAH 1.3 billion have been approved for internally displaced persons.

This was reported by Oksana Yelchieva, Director of the Department of Social Protection of the Population of Mykolaiv Regional State Administration.

According to her, one housing voucher is worth UAH 2 million. It is available to internally displaced persons who have left the temporarily occupied territories or lost their homes due to hostilities and destruction.

"Currently, 671 applications for a total of UAH 1.3 billion have been processed and approved in Mykolaiv region. The work is ongoing, so everyone who has the opportunity and desire to receive such compensation can apply to their local communities," said Yelchieva.

In addition, Mykolaiv region is implementing state programs to support IDPs. In particular, there is the eHouse program, which allows people to get preferential loans for the purchase of housing with the support of state-owned banks.

According to the director of the department, since 2022, more than 100 people in Mykolaiv region have already taken advantage of such loans.

IDPs can also get help with employment. Employment centers have programs for vocational training, retraining, and support for starting a business.

As Intent previously wrote, according to the Department of Economic Development of Mykolaiv City Council, the population of Mykolaiv has decreased by more than 75 thousand people in three years. While in February 2022, about 469 thousand people lived in the city, as of the beginning of 2025, only 394.3 thousand people were recorded in the community register. Thus, in three years, the city has lost more than 75 thousand people.

At the same time, the number of officially registered unemployed in the city was projected to reach 804 people in 2026, and 756 in 2028.

Mykolaiv also remains a city that hosts internally displaced persons. While at the beginning of 2025 there were 63.6 thousand of them, in 2028 the number is expected to reach over 73 thousand.
