In Mykolaiv region, it was decided to repair the shelter, which was planned to be built in 2019 and continued in 2024. More than UAH 19 million was allocated from the budget for this purpose.

This is evidenced by data from the Prozorro public procurement system.

The customer for the overhaul of the radiation shelter No. 54726 of the Stepkivska secondary school is the Department of Urban Development, Architecture, Capital Construction and Development Project Support. The expected value of the procurement is UAH 19 million 347 thousand 820. The auction is scheduled to start on October 3.

The amount of the tender security is UAH 58 thousand 43. No contract security is required. The repair work should be completed by December 31, 2025.

The auction for adjusting the design and estimate documentation for this facility took place on March 4, 2024 and cost UAH 331 thousand 578.

According to the decision of the Mykolaiv Regional Council of May 16, 2019, "On Amendments to the Program of Economic and Social Development of Mykolaiv Region for 2015-2017, which was extended until 2019 inclusive," the repair of the shelter for the Stepkivska school was planned back in 2019.

According to the publication Gard.City, in November 2023, the work continued with the insulation of the shelter. Workers dug a pit in front of the school, made a second entrance, installed doors, puttyed the inside of the building, and that was the end of the work. The work was carried out by Laskardo LLC.

The facility was funded by government programs and was allocated UAH 12.8 million. At the time, journalists and the public appealed to various authorities, but as you can see, this project has only now gotten off the ground.

Strange stories about the construction of shelters are not uncommon in the region. For example, recently in Mykolaiv, the repair of a shelter at a lyceum was awarded to a company that was accused of corruption and large-scale tax evasion. More than 90 million hryvnias are planned to be spent on the new construction of a civil defense facility for the RRU on the territory of the Rybakiv Lyceum of the Koblivka Village Council.

In early September, rain flooded the lyceum's shelter, which cost more than 16 million from the budget to repair. In the spring, the readiness of this shelter after major repairs was confirmed by the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Council , Anton Tabunschyk, together with deputies.

In addition, Mykolaiv Oblast has determined who will carry out the reconstruction of a kindergarten in the village of Trykratne, Voznesensk district. The Department of Urban Development, Architecture and Capital Construction of Mykolaiv Regional State Administration held an open tender with special features worth UAH 75 million. Only one company took part in the auction, and it won. The prices in the estimate were overstated.
