Mykolaiv educational institutions are planning to create inclusive groups and ensure the safety of education. The measures envisaged by the education program will be funded by a state subvention.

The decision was made at a meeting of the Standing Committee on Health and Social Protection of the Mykolaiv City Council.

According to Hanna Lychko, Head of the Education Department of the Mykolaiv City Council, the comprehensive education program for 2025-2027 provides funding for pre-school, secondary, out-of-school and vocational education institutions.

In addition to the main sections, it is necessary to maintain the vital functions of buildings and update the material and technical base of educational institutions. It also provides for meals in kindergartens. In addition, inclusive groups will be introduced in preschool education institutions.

In addition, it is necessary to continue transporting children to educational institutions where there is a full-time educational process. For this purpose, it is planned to purchase school buses. This should be realized through co-financing from the state budget. Children with disabilities also need transportation. The program will also purchase the necessary equipment - computers, office equipment, furniture, etc.

The education program also includes providing school uniforms to children deprived of parental care, paying one-time assistance to orphans, equipping civil defense facilities and providing additional classes for children with special needs.

The program states that meals are provided only to the privileged category. Currently, meals for privileged categories are being removed and meals for grades 1-4 are being introduced.

Mykolaiv region recently received new minibuses for children from international partners. In total, the vehicles were handed over to six communities. Mykolaiv received four vehicles, and Novoodesa, Bashtanka, Novobuzka, Voznesensk, Pivdenoukrayinska, and Pervomaiska communities will receive one each. The cars will be handed over to schools in the region for children with special educational needs.

In addition, an inclusive space and media center is being created in the city on the basis of the lyceum. The project will help every child realize their right to education, maximize their potential, and overcome socialization barriers. The project will last for four months, during which it is planned to renovate two premises, equip the media center with the necessary equipment, and provide inclusive education tools.
