A court in Kyiv granted the prosecutor's motion and extended the term of detention for Svetlana Turlakova, the former director of a Yalta school. According to the court's decision of March 2, the suspected collaborator will be held in custody for at least 60 more days.

This was reported by a correspondent of Suspilne Krym from the courtroom.

The ex-director is accused of active cooperation with the occupation authorities of Crimea and the introduction of Russian education standards on the peninsula. Since the article under investigation provides for serious punishment for high treason and aiding the aggressor, the court supported the prosecution, believing that the defendant's freedom could harm further investigation.

The key factor for the court was the suspect's lack of a registered place of residence in the territory controlled by Ukraine. In addition, the prosecutor emphasized the high risks of influencing the investigation. In particular, the accused may destroy or distort evidence, copies of which are already in the proceedings.

Particular attention was paid to the issue of pressure on witnesses. Currently, two people are involved in the case: one is a relative of the suspect, and the other worked with her before the occupation of 2014. According to the prosecution, the suspect's freedom will pose a real threat to the objective interrogation of these people.

As a reminder, the head of one of the seized schools in Yalta was detained in January 2026 as a result of a successful SBU counterintelligence operation. The woman is accused of active cooperation with the enemy in the field of "education" in the occupied Crimea.

The 'director' personally approved curricula with documents in accordance with Russian standards. In particular, she actively involved students in propaganda events dedicated to the 'exploits of the defenders of the fatherland' and the 11th anniversary of the illegal 'all-Crimean referendum'. During the full-scale invasion, at the end of December 2025, the woman arrived in the territory controlled by Ukraine to visit relatives, but was exposed by law enforcement officers and notified of suspicion of collaboration (Part 3 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
