Mykolaiv has planned to reconstruct and improve Taras Shevchenko Park. More than twenty million hryvnias are to be raised for the project.
This was reported by the Center for Public Investigations with reference to the Dream ecosystem.
The goal of the project is to create an attractive and functional public space that will promote active communication and recreation of the local population, preserve cultural heritage, and stimulate the development of the city's cultural and social life.
According to the reconstruction project by the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture, it is planned to create a safe ecological recreation space based on the principles of sustainable development, including the ecological use of energy resources.
What does the reconstruction involve?
The total budget of the project is UAH 21 million. Despite the approved design and estimate documentation, the project currently needs funding for full implementation.
According to the description, Shevchenko Square is an important center of cultural and social life in Mykolaiv. The reconstruction will help not only preserve the historical heritage but also create a space for active recreation, leisure, and community development.
The project was initiated by the Mykolaiv City Council, executed by the Department of Housing and Communal Services, and the balance holder is Mykolaiv Parks. The project takes into account environmental standards and has the potential to have a positive impact on the economic development of the community.
The city is also planning a large-scale reconstruction of the park on Heroiv Ukrayiny Avenue. The project is aimed at creating a modern space for recreation for citizens and visitors. The concept was developed in collaboration with French architect Martin Maurice Henri Duplantier, and the total budget for the renovation will be over UAH 30 million.
In addition, Ochakiv plans to reconstruct the city park and build fountains. UAH 15 million has been allocated for this project. The renovation will include the improvement of the boulevard part of the park, which stretches from Myru Street to the Cathedral.
