Mykolaiv has planned the reconstruction and construction of critical facilities, including medical facilities, schools, and administrative buildings. These investment projects are aimed at modernizing social infrastructure.
The Mykolaiv City Council has adopted amendments to the City's Economic and Social Development Program for 2024-2026.
The adjustments concern investment projects that will be financed from the city budget. This plan envisages the reconstruction and new construction of several facilities of strategic importance for the development of urban infrastructure and social facilities in the coming years.
The key projects that require adjustments and additional funding include the reconstruction of the covered passage between the main building and the trauma center of the city emergency hospital, the creation of a new "Animal Island" in the Mykolaiv Zoo, and the reconstruction of the hospital's reception department.
In addition, the plans include the construction of a boiler house for school No. 29, the restoration of the building of the executive committee of the Mykolaiv City Council, and the reconstruction of several schools and hospitals.
Particular attention is paid to projects in the field of education and medicine, including the reconstruction of Mykolaiv Gymnasium No. 48, a sports ground for Gymnasium No. 31, and the creation of a rehabilitation center at City Hospital No. 4 for victims of military operations. The planned works also include the transformation of maternity hospital No. 3 into a modern perinatal center.
One of the deputies, Andriy Yantar, proposed to exclude the reconstruction of the Mykolaiv Zoo enclosure and elevators, but his proposal was not supported.
In March last year, registration was opened in Mykolaiv for participation in the all-Ukrainian architectural competition for the best project proposal for the reconstruction of maternity hospital No. 3 into a perinatal center.
In 2024, projects were implemented to restore residential buildings, infrastructure, roads, and bridges at the expense of state and local budgets, as well as with the support of international partners. UAH 1.58 billion was allocated from the state, regional and local budgets to restore the damaged facilities. As part of these measures, 12 projects were completed.
