In the Mykolaiv region, a mother and her 14-year-old son were burned due to negligence and hospitalized. They tried to melt the stove with a gas can.
This was reported by the press service of the State Emergency Service in Mykolaiv region.
During the day, Mykolaiv firefighters responded to extinguish the fire 6 times. Thus, there was a fire of an Opel Ascona car on the territory of a private household, a bathhouse on the territory of a private household, the roof of an unused building at the facility, and three fires of garbage and reeds in an open area.
In addition, at 21:05, the Rescue Service received a report of a fire in the village of Veselynove. The owner tried to melt the stove with a gas collet spray can, which caused it to catch fire. The fire did not break out, but a woman born in 1982 and a boy born in 2011 suffered burns. Both were hospitalized to Voznesensk Central District Hospital with 2nd degree burns of the upper extremities, face and abdomen.
The rescuers reminded the fire safety rules. The stove should not be lit with flammable liquids and aerosols for several important reasons:
The safest way to start a fire is to use dry wood chips, paper, special briquettes or paraffin-based fire starters.
A total of 20 rescuers and 6 special vehicles were engaged to extinguish the fire. Firefighters from the Koblevo and Pokrovka local fire brigades were also involved. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
Recently, in Voznesensk, a fire broke out late in the evening in a bathhouse on the territory of a private house. A man born in 1991 was injured and taken out of the smoky room by his wife. It was she who called the rescuers and medics. The men were hospitalized with a preliminary diagnosis of combustion product poisoning.
Another fire occurred in the village of Ivanivka in the Bratsk community of Voznesensk district, where a fifteen-year-old boy saved his younger brother. Due to a short circuit in the power grid, things in the room where the six-year-old boy was staying caught fire. The older brother, hearing the screams, rushed to help. The child was hospitalized in a children's hospital with second-degree burns.
