Mykolaiv plans to spend more than UAH 17.5 million on fruit for educational institutions. The relevant tender for 2026 has been announced by the specialized catering company. The procurement covers schools and kindergartens in the city.

The relevant announcement was posted on the Prozorro portal.

According to the tender documentation, the utility company has set clear requirements for the quality and size of the fruit. In particular, they will buy oranges (from 5 cm in diameter), tangerines (from 3.8 cm), first-grade lemons and pink late-ripening apples. Particular attention was paid to bananas: these should be first-grade fruits with a length of 20 cm or more.

In general, the purchase plan looks like this:

The products will be delivered up to three times a week in small batches at the customer's request. Those wishing to participate in the tender can submit their proposals by January 7, 2026.

Earlier, the Mykolaiv-based company, which was at the center of a scandal over delays in the supply of school meals and violations of sanitary standards, allegedly has ties to local officials.

The official owner of the company used to work in catering establishments associated with the family of the head of the Ingul district administration and city council member Hanna Remennikova. In addition, legal support for the company was probably provided by the head of the legal department of the same administration.

Prosecco 8 LLC received a contract to provide catering services for some schools in Mykolaiv until the end of December 2025. The municipal enterprise responsible for organizing school meals signed a contract with the company worth about UAH 14.2 million.

However, on the first day of the contractor' s work, there was a public outcry. Parents reported that their children were left without breakfast or received their meals late. The media also published a video of the company's employees cooking porridge for schoolchildren in the rain in a tent.
