Prosecutors of the Prosecutor General's Office have submitted to the court an indictment against the head of the Russian Central Election Commission, Ella Pamfilova, who is accused of aiding and abetting the encroachment on the territorial integrity of Ukraine, justifying armed aggression and illegal crossing of the state border.

This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.

According to the investigation, she played a key role in attempts to legitimize the occupation in the temporarily occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Luhansk, and in particular in the Kherson region.

This refers to the organization of a pseudo-referendum in 2022 in the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region, which Russia used as a formal basis for announcing the "accession" of the region.

After that, according to the investigation, Pamfilova coordinated the so-called "elections" to the occupation authorities, as well as the inclusion of Kherson region in the Russian "Single Election Day" and the presidential elections in Russia. In this way, they tried to integrate the occupied territory into the political system of the aggressor state.

Her stay on September 10, 2023, in the temporarily occupied territory, where she coordinated the illegal electoral processes, was also documented.

The investigation also established that Pamfilova publicly supported the occupation, justified Russian aggression and spread narratives aimed at legitimizing the seizure of Ukrainian territories.

The pre-trial investigation in the case was conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine.

Earlier, Intent wrote about how a deputy of the Genichesk City Council from the banned OPFL received the most severe punishment for high treason - life imprisonment with full confiscation of property.

In addition, Volodymyr Saldo has already been sentenced for treason and received a new suspicion. Along with him, 11 other people associated with the activities of the illegal armed group in the temporarily occupied territory of Kherson region were also suspected.
