Mykolaiv region: VA official suspected of embezzling over 2 million

In Mykolaiv region, the head of one of the village military administrations of Mykolaiv district was served with a notice of suspicion of embezzlement of budget funds.

This was reported by the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.

According to the investigation, in 2024, the official, acting on behalf of the territorial community, entered into an agreement with an individual entrepreneur to perform land management work.

Later, as law enforcement officers found out, he insisted on full payment to the contractor without actually checking the work performed.

As a result, according to the investigation, the community budget suffered losses of more than UAH 2.4 million.

The official is charged with embezzlement of property by abuse of office committed under martial law and on a particularly large scale(Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The court has already imposed a bail in the amount of UAH 449,280.

If proven guilty, he faces 7 to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.

The pre-trial investigation is being carried out by police investigators in Mykolaiv region.

Earlier, Intent wrote that former MP from Mykolaiv region Iryna Kormyshkina declared millions in expenses, luxury accessories and the use of a premium car.

Former deputy of the Mykolaiv Regional Council Yuriy Kormyshkin claimed that his wife only declared the inheritance she received from her late father, who was "a very influential person in Mykolaiv region."

On October 17, the NABU and the SAPO served a notice of suspicion to a current MP from Mykolaiv in a case of illicit enrichment worth over UAH 20 million. She currently faces up to 10 years in prison. According to preliminary data, she received gifts worth more than UAH 20 million, including a valuable Swiss watch and significant cash gifts from her father, whose official income did not allow such generosity.

In addition, the Verkhovna Rada committee planned to consider the application of a Member of Parliament from Mykolaiv to resign from her parliamentary seat. After that, the parliament should approve this decision.
