Mykolaiv Allocates ₴614.8M for Children's Hospital Reconstruction by 2026

The reconstruction of the regional children's clinical hospital in Mykolaiv will begin with an expected budget of over UAH 600 million. The project involves improving the medical infrastructure to provide quality care to children, and the work is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2026.

This was reported by the Center for Public Investigations, citing data from the Prozorro procurement system.

Mykolaiv has announced a tender for a large-scale reconstruction of the regional children's clinical hospital. This is the fourth stage of construction, and UAH 614.8 million is allocated for its implementation.

According to information in the public procurement system, the auction will be held in the format of open tenders. The deadline for submitting bids is April 10, 2025, and the auction will take place on April 11. Potential contractors must provide a bank guarantee of 1.85 million.

The size of the minimum price reduction step is 1% of the total purchase amount.

The reconstruction project involves improving the medical infrastructure of the institution, which will allow providing better medical care to children in the region. The customer of the works is the Department of Urban Development, Architecture, Capital Construction and Support of Development Projects of Mykolaiv Regional State Administration. The works are scheduled to be completed by the end of 2026.

The project financing provides for the possibility of advance payments of up to 30% of the annual workload. The rest of the funds will be paid in stages according to budget revenues.

The city budget allocated only a little over one million hryvnias for the repair of the city children's hospital, although it needs 40 million. It is planned to overhaul the roof, insulate the facade and replace the windows at the city children's hospital No. 2. The renovation will include improved lighting and ventilation, reduced noise from the street, and increased thermal insulation and energy efficiency.

Mykolaiv City Hospital #5 has also decided to implement a project to ensure the safety of patients and staff in the event of a fire. It plans to raise UAH 11 million for this purpose. The project involves developing evacuation schemes, installing detectors, and conducting training for medical staff.
