Mykolaiv airport, which was destroyed during the full-scale invasion, needs €13 million to rebuild. Due to infrastructure damage, the airport cannot operate as usual.

This was reported by MikVisti with reference to the Mykolaiv Region Development Strategy until 2027.

About 13 million euros are needed to restore Mykolaiv airport, which was severely damaged at the beginning of the war.

Direct hits from shells and rockets damaged many of the airport's key facilities, including the terminal complex, lighting and radio equipment, the apron and the fire station. The technical condition of the airport currently prevents it from operating efficiently, and many areas require immediate restoration.

According to the technical report, the total cost of infrastructure restoration is about EUR 13 million.

In March 2023, professional inspectors conducted a survey of the territory and facilities of the Mykolaiv International Airport Municipal Enterprise that were damaged as a result of hostilities to determine the damage caused to the environment. According to the results of the survey, it was found that

The total amount of damage is UAH 243.4 million.

Despite the fact that airports in Ukraine remain closed, their directors continue to receive salaries. Volodymyr Berko, who has been acting director of Mykolaiv Airport since March 2023, declared UAH 667.1 thousand in salary.

The city's total losses exceeded 850 million euros. Despite the challenges, the city authorities are actively working on recovery, guided by the principle of "Build Back Better" - to make the city even better than before.
