A deputy who headed an organization created by the invaders during the occupation and helped integrate local businesses into the Russian economy will be tried in Kherson region. He was accused of collaboration, assistance to the aggressor state, and participation in propaganda.

This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.

Law enforcement officers submitted an indictment to the court against a deputy of the Lazurne village council from Skadovsk district. He is accused of collaboration, facilitating the occupation policy and denying the fact of Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine.

According to the investigation, in 2022, while under occupation, the deputy voluntarily agreed to cooperate with the Russians and headed an illegally created organization called the Fund for Support of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises of the Kherson Region.

In this position, he facilitated the introduction of local business into the Russian economy: he helped register entrepreneurs in Russian structures, register them with the tax authorities, obtain patents and certify products according to the standards of the aggressor state. He also participated in public events of the occupation administration, including round tables and propaganda events, spreading messages in the interests of the enemy.

The court also sentenced 44-year-old Nadiya Babeshko, who works for the occupiers in the occupied part of Kherson region, to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property. She held a position in the occupation administration, participated in propaganda activities and illegal elections.

In addition, the former director of the seized seaport in Kherson was convicted of collaboration - his cooperation with the occupiers and participation in the organization of pseudo-elections led to the sentence. It is known that in September 2022, he was appointed the head of the illegally created Kherson Commercial Sea Port by order of the Gauleiter Volodymyr Saldo. Subsequently, disagreements arose between them, and he was removed from office.
