More than 50 thousand patients were treated in Mykolaiv in 2024

In Mykolaiv, more than 50,000 patients were treated in the city's medical facilities over the past year. They also introduced a number of innovations, opened free dentistry, made repairs and implemented healthcare programs.

These data are presented in the report of the mayor Oleksandr Senkevych for 2024.

In 2024, 51,165 patients, including 3,082 children, were treated at 18 medical facilities. There were 2,168 deliveries, including 32 twins. Special attention was paid to the victims of hostilities - 6,925 patients, of whom 6,799 were military and 126 were civilians.

A significant amount of work was carried out under contracts with the NHSU, which in 2024 amounted to 152 under 34 service packages:

In addition, in 2024, Mykolaiv medical institutions implemented a number of important projects. In May, a new oxygen network was put into operation at Maternity Hospital No. 3. And on the basis of the dental department No. 2, City Hospital No. 5 opened an office for free dental care for children with special needs under the age of 18.

A renovated X-ray room equipped with a modern X-ray machine purchased at the expense of the state budget was opened in Municipal Hospital No. 1. The renovation of the room was funded by the city budget.

In addition, part of the surgical department and one operating room have been renovated at City Hospital No. 5 with the support of the International Organization for Migration and funding from the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In the near future, the second part of the department will be repaired at the expense of donors from Luxembourg. Municipal Maternity Hospital No. 3 has completed the renovation of a room to install a mammography machine.

Mykolaiv also implements numerous healthcare and social support programs. Under the city program, 320 hip and knee joints have been purchased since 2020. In 2024, more than UAH 3 million was allocated for privileged categories of citizens, and 445 patients, including 112 military personnel, used the services. An additional 902 military personnel received free dental care.

City dental clinics No. 1, No. 2, No. 3 and City Hospital No. 5 signed 7 contracts with the NHSU to provide services to the military. We also purchased a panoramic computed tomography scanner, which will soon be put into operation. We purchased 155 hearing aids (150 for adults and 5 for children), and installed 31 of them.

All hospitals were provided with 116 autonomous power sources, 12 artesian wells with purification systems, solar panels and modular boilers.

Horus Prosthetics, a German company, provided free prosthetics for patients in the city hospitals. A prosthetics and rehabilitation center is currently being planned for one of Mykolaiv's hospitals.

According to the report, these steps help improve the quality of life of residents and support the military and privileged categories of the population.

In addition, the Mykolaiv City Emergency Hospital recently received the latest equipment to improve the quality of medical care for victims of the explosions.

The Mykolaiv City Council has also allocated over UAH 19 million for capital works in medical facilities. It is planned to build a perinatal, rehabilitation and pediatric diagnostic center. In addition, UAH 200 million is planned for healthcare in 2025. It is currently planned to allocate more funds to hospitals, maternity homes and benefit programs.
